Summary

A bespoke high-end, bespoke residential studio is looking for a Senior to Associate level Interior Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate would be an experienced and all-rounded interior designer with the capacity to lead multiple projects, throughout the entire design journey from initial concept creation through design development to final implementation.

Job description:

  • Lead a team of designers in producing visually stunning designs by combining creative and technical skills.
  • Demonstrate a knack for producing comprehensive construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and intricate details.
  • Project manage the entire design process, overseeing contractor and supplier interactions, installation approvals, and efficient time management to meet project deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for task delegation and management of junior design team members.
  • Effectively communicate progress, issues, and essential project information with Senior Designers, the Studio Director, and Owner to ensure seamless collaboration and problem resolution.
  • Proficiently in organising finishes, FF&E, and lighting schedules.
  • Foster enduring relationships with third parties and external consultants.
  • Possess a deep understanding of interior systems and construction methods.
  • Conduct thorough document reviews to ensure alignment with the design intent.
  • This role would be for someone legally eligible to work in the UK.

Skills necessary:

  • A degree or equivalent in Interior Design
  • At least 10 years post-graduate experience in the luxury residential sector.
  • Full proficiency using Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of project programs and deadlines.
  • Financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness.
  • Good supplier and product knowledge, including FF&E and finishes.
  • High standard of technical understanding, and broad knowledge of materiality.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and client-facing skills.
  • Reliable, focused, confident and articulate and detail-oriented.
  • Proactive, open to feedback, with boundless amounts of positive energy.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills; verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop are essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of high residential interior design is highly desirable.
