What is a BIM coordinator?

BIM is a data-led process that helps project teams manage information and data about a project throughout its entire life cycle. This means BIM Coordinators play a crucial role in the project team, ensuring this essential information is coordinated accurately to help minimise risk and cost while reducing construction times.

Duties of a BIM Coordinator

BIM Coordinators won’t usually have any design accountabilities but will instead be masters of information management, responsible for ensuring all key stakeholders are following BIM protocols and standards. The role sits within the BIM team and may provide Revit support, training and building standards and libraries

Skills and Competencies

Full understanding of relevant UK BIM Standards is essential and you will need a sound knowledge of design principles and construction processes. Ideally, you will have an advanced level of understanding of Autodesk Revit. Experience in project level BIM Coordination and managing architectural teams in BIM workflows is essential.

How much do BIM Coordinators get paid in the UK?

BIM Coordinators can expect to earn from £41,000 to £54,000 per year, as indicated by our Salary Guide. The HAUS salary guide for architects is designed to help ensure candidates are getting the right wage, and provides a handy overview of the average salaries for architectural professionals across the spectrum in the UK.
