Architectural Technician Role Summary

Are you an ambitious Architectural Technician eager to advance your career in high-end residential projects? We have an exciting opportunity for you to work as an assistant in a prestigious architectural firm based in West London. You’ll be part of a team creating bespoke details from first principles, with ample opportunities for professional growth.

Key Requirements for this Architectural Technician Role

  • Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an architectural office using ordered layering systems and overlay drafting with Xrefs.
  • Ability to sketch by hand in 3D and 2D technical details.
  • Some experience with SketchUp for explaining building junctions and details.
  • Basic proficiency in Photoshop for visualising details.
  • Experience with Revit is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in the technical development of bespoke details.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated and a team player.

Key Responsibilities for this Architectural Technician Role

  • Prepare planning drawings for statutory approval authorities.
  • Prepare and present technical 2D & 3D design solutions using AutoCAD and traditional methods.
  • Produce production information and detailed construction packages.
  • Liaise with consultants and manufacturers during the product selection process for construction details.
  • Undertake technical research into products and building materials.
  • Prepare meeting notes and record events as required.
  • Assist with site inspections, including condition surveys, site progress, and analysis of build work and defects.
  • Conduct quality inspections, such as snagging.
  • Create photographic, SketchUp, and 3D visuals to support project development.
  • Assist in the detailed design process of small schemes and layouts for space planning.
