Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience)

Associate Architect Role – HAUS Careers is thrilled to be working with a renowned architectural studio in the heart of Clerkenwell. This award-winning practice is seeking a talented and driven Associate Architect to lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex projects, while mentoring teams and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice.

The Associate Architect Role:
As an Associate, you will play a pivotal role in both project and team leadership. You will oversee the development and delivery of significant UK-based projects — typically between £50m and £200m in construction value — across sectors including commercial, residential, workplace, creative reuse and more.
The ideal candidate will be an inspiring team leader, confident communicator, and rigorous in both design and technical detailing. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring projects meet the studio’s exacting standards from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead major projects from inception to completion across all RIBA stages
Oversee and guide project teams, ensuring clarity of design direction, responsibilities and deliverables
Communicate confidently and effectively with clients, consultants and colleagues
Ensure the highest quality of design and technical output across every stage
Drive project planning, programming, and resource coordination
Take responsibility for programme, budget, and delivery oversight
Review and contribute to detailed specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
Provide leadership in internal reviews, mentoring and motivation of junior team members
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience leading complex, large-scale projects (construction value £50m–£200m)
Exceptional design sensibility and a track record of delivering to the highest technical standards
Comprehensive knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction methods and detailing
Extensive experience managing projects across all RIBA work stages
Expert proficiency in Revit (essential), along with strong Adobe Creative Suite skills
Excellent communication, presentation and sketching abilities
Confidence in client-facing roles and internal design reviews
Highly organised with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
A proactive, collaborative approach with a genuine enthusiasm for team leadership
Ambition to play an active role in the ongoing success and growth of the studio
