A design-led architecture practice in South London is seeking a hands-on Associate Architect to take a senior role within their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an architect with 10+ years’ experience and a strong track record in the higher education and public sectors to step into a leadership position.
The Role
As an Associate, you’ll be responsible for leading multiple projects concurrently, from early concept through to delivery across all RIBA stages. You’ll manage client relationships, lead consultant teams, and oversee internal resources, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.
Beyond project leadership, this role also offers the chance to shape the strategic growth of the practice. You’ll contribute to business development, bid preparation, and networking, as well as representing the studio externally at events, panels, and within sector-specific forums.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of higher education, schools, and community projects
Oversee multiple projects at once, managing teams, consultants, and resources
Drive bids, presentations, and new business development opportunities
Represent the practice externally through networking, panels, and sector events
Support the practice’s social value and sustainability initiatives
Work closely with senior leadership to influence the strategic direction of the practice
Skills & Experience
10+ years’ experience, ideally within higher education, public realm, or community projects
Strong design leadership with proven experience across all RIBA stages
Advanced Revit proficiency – essential
Track record of managing clients, consultant teams, and project resources
Commercially aware and proactive in business development and networking
Experience in preparing successful bids and securing new work
Familiarity with sustainability and social value strategies desirable
