Associate FF and E Designer Role Summary
We’re working exclusively with a renowned East London interior design studio on the lookout for a Associate FF and E Designer with a strong background in luxury hospitality and high-end residential projects. The team is creative, collaborative, and known for producing interiors that are both bespoke and beautifully crafted, blending classic sensibilities with contemporary elegance.
This is a rare opportunity to step into an Associate FF and E designer role within an established studio. You’ll lead a talented team of designers, oversee exceptional hotel and private residential projects, and become a key part of the studio’s future growth.
The Role
As the Associate FF&E Designer, you’ll be hands-on, managing the entire FF&E process from concept through to install. You’ll liaise directly with clients, lead presentations, coordinate suppliers, and ensure projects meet the studio’s exacting standards and working closely with the Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading FF&E concepts across multiple projects
- Mentoring and managing junior and mid-weight team members
- Presenting confidently to clients, contractors, and consultants
- Designing and specifying bespoke furniture, lighting, antiques, and finishes
- Creating and managing budgets and detailed schedules
- Overseeing procurement and installation processes
- Maintaining strong supplier relationships and staying ahead of trends
- Upholding the studio’s distinct aesthetic and quality of delivery
What They’re Looking For
You’ll be a seasoned FF&E expert with experience in 5-star hospitality and luxury residential interiors, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-obsessed environment and has the confidence to lead from the front.
You’ll need:
- 12+ years’ experience, including 8+ in high-end hospitality
- A design degree or relevant qualification
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- High-level knowledge of local and international suppliers
- Fluent in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace
- Experience with FF&E specification software (e.g. EstiMac, Spec Designer) a plus
- A polished portfolio aligned with a clean, tailored aesthetic
- Willingness to travel internationally for key projects
