Associate Interior Architect Role Description
As an Associate Interior Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping dynamic, functional spaces that prioritise user experience and spatial flow. This is a big-picture role, requiring a strategic mindset to plan and configure areas effectively – from guest lounges to high-end hospitality environments. You will oversee the spatial layout, ensuring logical and seamless design solutions that enhance both the aesthetic and operational aspects of each project.
You will be a key client-facing presence, confidently leading presentations, building relationships, and managing expectations. You will also guide and mentor a team of designers, ensuring high-quality output and project cohesion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine spatial layouts for large-scale hospitality and travel projects, focusing on functionality, flow, and user experience.
- Oversee the full design process, from concept to completion, ensuring operationally effective and visually compelling solutions.
- Lead and manage a team, providing creative direction and technical guidance.
- Present ideas confidently to clients and stakeholders, translating their needs into innovative design solutions.
- Travel as required for site visits, client meetings, and project installations.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure seamless project delivery.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in interior architecture, with a strong background in hospitality, travel, or experiential environments.
- Strong analytical and spatial planning skills – ability to think in 3D and design with operational logic in mind.
- Excellent client management and presentation skills, with the ability to convey design concepts persuasively.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, etc.).
- A problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative spatial design.
