Summary

A friendly, vibrant team located in West London are looking for an Associate Interior Designer to join on a permanent basis. The studio has quickly gained a reputable and recognised name for creating characterful, soulful, and livable spaces with a high level of attention to detail and eclectic mix of found items.

Contributing to the Studio’s creative vision in collaboration with the creative director and design team. You will likely have extensive experience of working in the role of senior interior designer and have an interest in the history of interior styles, period detailing and antiques, as well as in understanding current trends.

This role will suite someone with an appetite for colour, texture and the blending of personal and cultural histories.

Job Description:

  • Assisting the design director with resourcing & costing for potential jobs
  • Confirming and developing the client design brief
  • Establishing project deliverables and programming the team workflow
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Managing and delivering projects on time, on budget and to the highest standard
  • Designing joinery, bespoke furniture, lighting & fixed finishes
  • Selecting, sourcing and coordinating detailed interior design packages and FF&E specifications for tender
  • Develop and track project budgets taking responsibility for financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Leading site meetings as representative of the client
  • Leading and mentoring other team members, developing their abilities as designers
  • Researching and sharing new trends, materials and styles within the industry
  • Sourcing items and researching new suppliers in line with sustainability policy

Skills & Experience Necessary:

You will have proven ability in leading and managing multiple projects, managing both the client and consultant teams, ensuring successful project completion to programme, quality and cost targets. You will be confident and competent at working with clients and consultants to establish briefs and fees, and show exceptional organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • At least 8+ years’ post qualification experience of high-end residential & boutique commercial projects
  • Good grasp of interior architecture with strengths in FF&E design
  • Proven track record of leading multiple projects from concept to delivery
  • Demonstrable team leadership, project management and budgeting skills
  • Competency in producing and reviewing detailed drawings, schedules and specifications
  • Exceptional attention to detail and extensive knowledge of materials, finishes & detailing
  • Excellent leadership, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to present design concepts and ideas with confidence and passion
  • Experience of liaising with architects, consultants, specialists and suppliers
  • Proficient using resource & project management software
    Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experienced user of Estimac (or similar specification or procurement software)
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Indesign (Illustrator beneficial)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Free-hand sketching skills and experience of modelling programs would be welcome
