Bid Manager Role Summary
We’re seeking a Bid Manager to join a well-established, award-winning architecture and design practice in London. Their portfolio spans masterplans, residential, hotels, retail, education and public buildings.
The successful candidate will play a key role in winning new business and driving the practice’s growth by leading high-quality bid submissions. This includes identifying new business opportunities, working closely with the Partners on bids and tenders, and producing visually engaging submissions. The candidate must therefore possess exceptional graphic design and visual communication skills, enabling them to craft bid documents and presentations that strengthen their competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tender process from opportunity identification through to final submission
- Develop winning bid strategies aligned with business goals
- Oversee bid writing and coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Collaborate with Partner teams to shape cohesive and compelling bids
- Maintain the tender pipeline and track performance metrics, sharing insights to improve future submissions
- Continuously improve templates, presentations and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines
- Organise and update project information sheets, CVs, portfolios and presentations
- Develop and manage new business development activity using CRM system, CMAP
- Maintain strong awareness of competitors and industry positioning
- Identify key industry events and speaking opportunities for senior leaders and colleagues
The Successful Candidate
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in bid management within architecture
- Prior experience in managing the entire bid process from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of and experience within an architecture practice
- Strong writing, communication and graphic skills, with fluency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong graphic eye and attention to detail
- Highly organised and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, proactive and creatively driven
