CAD Designer Role Summary

3-month Contract with strong potential to become permanent
Salary: £200 – £250 per day

A CAD Designer is required for a boutique joinery and bespoke furniture practice on an initial three-month contract, with strong potential to become permanent. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely within a small, hands-on studio producing beautifully crafted custom joinery and furniture pieces for private clients and high-end residential projects.

The ideal candidate will be confident preparing detailed technical drawings, comfortable liaising directly with clients and able to assess the feasibility of build concepts both in studio and on site. Workshop experience is a bonus but not essential.

This is a full-time, office-based role initially, with the potential for hybrid working once workflow and processes are established.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate technical drawings for bespoke joinery and custom furniture pieces
  • Carry out site surveys, assessing space, restrictions and build feasibility
  • Liaise directly with clients, managing expectations and providing clear design and technical guidance
  • Work with the production team to ensure drawings are practical, buildable and meet quality standards
  • Support project administration, timelines and coordination with contractors or suppliers
  • Optional: support sales or project management processes for candidates with relevant backgrounds

Requirements

  • Proven experience producing technical joinery drawings
  • UK driver’s licence and access to a car for site visits
  • Ability to carry out site surveys confidently and assess build constraints
  • Strong client-facing skills and the ability to manage expectations
  • Experience within interiors, bespoke joinery, furniture or fit-out environments
  • Workshop experience is beneficial but not required
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable taking initiative in a small studio setting

Why Apply?

  • Join a friendly, specialist studio producing high-quality bespoke joinery
  • Hands-on exposure to both technical design and client engagement
  • Opportunity for the role to become permanent within a growing practice
  • Varied project work and strong scope for professional development
