Communications Manager Role Summary
A leading international architecture and design studio is seeking a talented Communications Manager to oversee all aspects of the practice’s integrated communications. This is a key strategic role, responsible for positioning the studio as an industry leader, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring brand consistency across every channel.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, the New Business Manager, and the Head of Culture, managing everything from PR and press strategy to internal comms, social media, awards, events, and client relationship marketing. This role is ideal for a confident, proactive communicator with a passion for architecture, design, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the practice vision and business goals
- Oversee messaging, positioning, and audience targeting across all platforms
- Manage the annual marketing budget and report on performance to the leadership team
- Build relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets
- Plan and deliver press campaigns, write and distribute press releases, and manage external PR support
- Secure speaking, writing, and panel opportunities for senior staff
- Attend and represent the practice at key industry events
- Manage the annual awards calendar, targeting high-profile opportunities
- Coordinate submissions, budgets, and supporting materials
- Lead social media and website content in line with comms objectives
- Oversee production of visual assets, professional photography, and film
- Track analytics to inform ongoing development
- Champion the practice ethos through events, talks, and internal updates
- Work with the Head of Culture to develop creative studio initiatives
- Support knowledge sharing across teams
- Maintain and develop client relationships in collaboration with the new business team
- Produce client-facing newsletters and collateral
- Maintain the practice’s CRM database
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a communications or marketing role within architecture or the built environment
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and presentation skills
- Strong strategic thinking and organisational abilities
- Confident managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, CRM, and Mailchimp
- Passion for architecture, design, and sustainability
