Summary
A London heritage and conservation architectural practice is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Conservation Architect to join their small friendly team to assist with working on their portfolio of historic and listed buildings throughout the UK.
Job description:
The right candidate will have good technical detailing and sound experience with heritage and listed buildings, with a well presented portfolio showing preservation and refurbishment of historic buildings.
This role will require leading and being responsible for projects at various work stages, typically stages 2-6. So candidates must have sound knowledge of construction details technical detailing and contract administration experience. Candidate must also be capable of operating independently, to manage their own workload whilst working within a small team.
Requirements:
- Around 5 years of professional experience working on conservation or heritage listed residential projects in the UK
- Excellent technical ability with a strong focus on RIBA stages 2-6, proven ability to deliver on-site and good knowledge of UK building regulations
- Ability to produce technical packages independently
- Experience and / or interest in classical / traditional styles of architecture
- Good software ability, and if not already proficient then open to working in ArchiCAD – where full training will be provided
- Dynamic, ambitious, and passionate individuals who can balance a large workload independently with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Genuine passion for high quality design and classical architecture
- Hand-sketching ability and a creative flair a bonus

This is small niche conservation practice, based in central London, who work hard but are rewarded equally for this.
They have team days, and where some travel just outside of London will be required for the project (during the workday and all fees will be paid by the studio) they also encourage learning and socials together. As a practice, they have worked on some of the UK’s most notable heritage projects, and all share a passion for conservation and preservation, working predominantly on listed buildings.
