We’re working with a highly respected landscape design and build studio who are looking for a Construction Manager. They operate at the very top end of the residential market. Known for exceptional detailing, craftsmanship and service, they deliver complex, beautifully executed gardens for some of the most discerning private clients in London.
As part of their continued growth, they’re now looking for an experienced Project Site Manager to join their delivery team. This is a hands-on construction-focused role, leading the day-to-day delivery of soft and hard landscaping works on site.
This position will suit someone who thrives on site, enjoys managing people and programmes, and takes pride in delivering immaculate finished environments.
The Role
As Construction Manager, you’ll take ownership of site operations from groundworks through to final planting. You’ll be responsible for coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials and sequencing, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
You’ll be the main on-site representative for the company, maintaining excellent communication with internal teams and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Construction Management
Manage the daily on-site delivery of hard and soft landscaping works, including paving, drainage, water features, lighting, planting, turfing, irrigation and soil preparation
Ensure all works are delivered in line with construction drawings and technical packages, flagging and resolving discrepancies with the design team
Coordinate with QS and procurement to ensure materials, plant and labour are available ahead of programme requirements
Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress updates, timesheets and health & safety documentation
Keep sites clean, safe, organised and presentable at all times
Team Leadership
Lead and manage site teams of 5–15, including direct labour, subcontractors, agency staff and specialist trades
Allocate tasks effectively based on skillsets and monitor the quality of workmanship
Set clear expectations, motivate teams and address performance issues professionally
Programme & Progress
Deliver works in line with agreed programmes and milestone dates
Identify risks or delays early and propose practical mitigation strategies
Carry out regular site walk-throughs to plan upcoming phases and sequencing
Client & Stakeholder Liaison
Provide regular site updates and contribute to formal reporting where required
Ensure sites are client-ready for visits and walkthroughs
Represent The Gardenists with professionalism, clarity and confidence on site
Health, Safety & Compliance
Champion best practice health & safety, delivering daily briefings and enforcing standards
Ensure site operations align with company policies, procedures and reporting requirements
About You
Minimum 8 years’ experience in landscape construction, with at least 5 years in a site or construction management role within high-end or luxury projects
Strong technical knowledge across both hard and soft landscaping
Confident reading and interpreting drawings, details and construction sequencing
Proven ability to manage programmes, quality and risk on live sites
CSCS card essential; SSSTS or SMSTS preferred (training available if required)
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and email
Calm, organised and solutions-focused, even under pressure
