London

We’re working with a highly respected landscape design and build studio who are looking for a Construction Manager. They operate at the very top end of the residential market. Known for exceptional detailing, craftsmanship and service, they deliver complex, beautifully executed gardens for some of the most discerning private clients in London.

As part of their continued growth, they’re now looking for an experienced Project Site Manager to join their delivery team. This is a hands-on construction-focused role, leading the day-to-day delivery of soft and hard landscaping works on site.

This position will suit someone who thrives on site, enjoys managing people and programmes, and takes pride in delivering immaculate finished environments.

The Role

As Construction Manager, you’ll take ownership of site operations from groundworks through to final planting. You’ll be responsible for coordinating labour, subcontractors, materials and sequencing, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

You’ll be the main on-site representative for the company, maintaining excellent communication with internal teams and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities

Site & Construction Management

  • Manage the daily on-site delivery of hard and soft landscaping works, including paving, drainage, water features, lighting, planting, turfing, irrigation and soil preparation

  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with construction drawings and technical packages, flagging and resolving discrepancies with the design team

  • Coordinate with QS and procurement to ensure materials, plant and labour are available ahead of programme requirements

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress updates, timesheets and health & safety documentation

  • Keep sites clean, safe, organised and presentable at all times

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage site teams of 5–15, including direct labour, subcontractors, agency staff and specialist trades

  • Allocate tasks effectively based on skillsets and monitor the quality of workmanship

  • Set clear expectations, motivate teams and address performance issues professionally

Programme & Progress

  • Deliver works in line with agreed programmes and milestone dates

  • Identify risks or delays early and propose practical mitigation strategies

  • Carry out regular site walk-throughs to plan upcoming phases and sequencing

Client & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Provide regular site updates and contribute to formal reporting where required

  • Ensure sites are client-ready for visits and walkthroughs

  • Represent The Gardenists with professionalism, clarity and confidence on site

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Champion best practice health & safety, delivering daily briefings and enforcing standards

  • Ensure site operations align with company policies, procedures and reporting requirements

About You

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in landscape construction, with at least 5 years in a site or construction management role within high-end or luxury projects

  • Strong technical knowledge across both hard and soft landscaping

  • Confident reading and interpreting drawings, details and construction sequencing

  • Proven ability to manage programmes, quality and risk on live sites

  • CSCS card essential; SSSTS or SMSTS preferred (training available if required)

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and email

  • Calm, organised and solutions-focused, even under pressure

What’s on Offer

  • Salary of £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience

  • Company pension

  • Based on site with occasional time at the central london office

If you’re a hands-on Construction Manager with a passion for beautifully built landscapes and want to work on some of London’s most prestigious private gardens, this is a standout opportunity.
