Design Manager Role Summary:

A globally renowned, high-end design studio specialising in bespoke luxury interiors are on the lookout for a Design Manager who can lead from the front, inspire teams, and deliver top-tier interiors from concept to completion. The studio has an enviable client list and a reputation for exquisite, functional design.

You’ll be hands-on, creative, and commercially minded, with a natural flair for managing people and projects with precision.

The Design Manager Role:

This is a senior position for someone who has already worn the hat of Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager for at least a decade. You’ll be running your own team and delivering large-scale projects across the world. Your portfolio will show off not just stunning conceptual design work, but tangible results – projects delivered on time, on budget, and with finesse.

Day-to-day You’ll Be:

  • Leading design and project teams from pitch through to site
  • Briefing and managing designers, overseeing time logs, and ensuring efficient delivery
  • Presenting to clients and stakeholders at key meetings
  • Managing project programs, budget control and internal workflows
  • Supporting directors in developing client proposals and strategic initiatives
  • Overseeing FF&E selection, detail design, and documentation
  • Mentoring junior and midweight team members
  • Liaising closely with contractors, engineers, and architects on site
  • Playing a key part in studio operations, senior management discussions, and business development

What You’ll Need:

  • A relevant degree or diploma with 10+ years post-grad experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD (Vectorworks highly desirable)
  • Proven leadership experience across large-scale hospitality, retail or F&B
  • Strong understanding of FF&E, finishes, and detailing
  • Comfortable managing complex schedules and juggling priorities
  • First-rate client skills — both face-to-face and written
  • A collaborative attitude with confidence in presenting and decision-making
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a naturally strategic mindset
  • Experience attending site, working with sub-teams, and problem-solving in real time

Perks + Culture:

This studio has a loyal, high-performing team with a genuine love for what they do. You’ll be surrounded by top talent, and supported in your growth with responsibility and freedom to lead. Their projects are unique and highly rewarding, often taking you far beyond the typical design experience.
