Summary

An outstanding opportunity for a German speaking Junior Interior Designer to gain a permanent position working full time for a creative multifaceted studio. Reporting to the head designer, working on luxury projects across homes or hotels, restaurants or schools, offices or shops, furniture or objects, exhibitions and experiences. Projects based in the UK and internationally. Working out of a wonderful beautifully designed office in a grade II listed building refurbishment. Working directly for the client will provide excellent client facing exposer as well as a large amount of project ownership and a high level of responsibility.

Job description:

  • Working on impressive, luxury projects with unique styles and quirky interiors
  • Assisting the head designer, working closely with them and the client through all aspects of the project stages
  • Keeping up constant communication with suppliers and contractors
  • Sourcing and procuring all FF&E items and accessories
  • Creating concepts with mood boards etc
  • Developing the designs
  • Producing drawings for bespoke elements
  • Drawing and rendering plans, elevations, and other details

Skills necessary:

  • Must be a German Speaker. Ideally lived or worked abroad
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience, with a proven relevant portfolio of work
  • Ability to create and edit technical drawings using Vectorworks
  • Skills with rendering and bringing to life plans, elevations, and sections
  • A strong all-round IT skill set
  • Attention to fine detail and a good head for figures is essential
  • Natural creative flair erring on the eccentric and a hands-on work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when building relationships with contractors and suppliers
  • Imaginative and resourceful
  • Ability to source items such as fabrics and soft furnishing at the best possible price
  • High emphasis on hand sketching and drawing abilities
  • Design Software Skills with Vectorworks, Adobe CS, Sketchup
  • Microsoft Word/office and Outlook
