Graphics Design Director Role Summary
A dynamic creative branding agency is seeking a talented Design Director (Graphics) to join their London team. With a diverse portfolio spanning retail, hospitality, and sports, the agency is known for crafting impactful brand experiences that resonate across industries.
This is a leadership role for a visionary designer who thrives on storytelling and bringing ideas to life. The position is 70% hands-on design and 30% team leadership and admin.
You’ll be the creative force clients trust and admire – setting the vision, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and delivering exceptional design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding client briefs and setting out an approach and team plan to help prepare commercial proposals.
- Interpreting clients’ business objectives and the agency’s design strategy to create compelling and effective design solutions.
- Storyboarding and preparing client presentations – effectively communicating the brief, strategy, design story and narrative, across all creative disciplines.
- Inspiring clients and explaining how our design solutions will effectively enhance their business.
- Organising and managing more than one project in the same timeframe.
- Directing, inspiring and managing the project teams, both full-time & freelance.
- Reporting back to the business on progress, issues and future requirements.
- Liaising and managing other collaborating agencies, suppliers and contractors.

- Skilled in balancing creativity with structure, ensuring projects run smoothly without burnout.
- Comfortable integrating input from other disciplines into cohesive design solutions.
- Deep knowledge of design tools, trends, and production processes.
- Strong time management and administrative capabilities.
