An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Interior Designer or Design Director ready to take the next step into a Head of Design position within an established luxury residential developer and design studio.
This is a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the creative direction of some of London’s most prestigious private residential projects. You will shape the studio’s design vision while leading a talented multidisciplinary team across Interior Design, Interior Architecture and FF&E. Combining creative excellence with commercial awareness and strategic leadership, you will ensure every project is delivered to the highest standard from concept through to completion.

The Role
As Head of Design, you will be responsible for driving design excellence across a portfolio of ultra-high-end residential developments and private client projects. You will provide strategic oversight across multiple schemes while remaining involved in key design decisions, ensuring every project reflects exceptional creativity, technical quality and meticulous attention to detail.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead and develop the design team, promote collaboration between Interior Design, Interior Architecture and FF&E, and champion innovative thinking throughout the studio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creative direction across multiple luxury residential projects from concept to completion.
Oversee project quality, ensuring design integrity and consistency across the studio.
Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, supporting professional development and career progression.
Foster collaboration between Interior Design, Interior Architecture and FF&E teams to deliver cohesive design solutions.
Inspire innovation through the exploration of new materials, technologies and design approaches.
Balance creative ambition with commercial objectives, budgets and programme requirements.
Manage design resources and team allocation across multiple live projects.
Represent the studio externally, supporting client presentations, business development and project pitches.
Continue to lead selected projects while providing strategic oversight across the wider portfolio.
About You
You will be an accomplished senior designer with extensive experience delivering exceptional high-end residential interiors and a natural ability to lead creative teams.
You’ll possess both outstanding design instincts and strong technical knowledge, with the confidence to mentor others while maintaining the highest standards across every project.
Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in a senior Interior Design leadership position within a leading design practice or developer.
Exceptional portfolio showcasing luxury residential projects from concept through delivery.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams across Interior Design, Interior Architecture and FF&E.
Strong understanding of the full design process, including technical detailing and construction.
Excellent spatial planning, material specification, lighting, furniture and bespoke joinery knowledge.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, programmes and project resources.
Confident presenting to clients and senior stakeholders.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and EstiPC.
