Summary

Outstanding opportunity to join a prime London residential developer as Head of Interior Design. Specializing in luxury residential projects from feasibility to completion, finishing to an impeccable standard, and turn-key finish. This privately-owned company of 12 is looking to quickly expand due to large scale projects in the pipeline. As Head of Design, you will run the projects, manage the in-house design team and be the creative lead on all projects.

This role will suit someone with excellent luxury residential experience, ideally gained from both prime London developments and private client projects. A confident designer with proven creative direction and management skills and experience.

Job description:

  • Lead multiple luxury residential projects from feasibility to completion
  • Lead architecture, interior design, and FF&E from start to finish
  • Create architectural and interior design feasibility studies for prospective new clients
  • Establish and manage project program length
  • Effectively communicate with clients
  • Lead client presentations
  • Create and define architectural and interior design concept presentations
  • Create and develop architectural and interior detailed design presentations
  • Prepare and develop planning applications and applications for Listed Building consent alongside our project management team
  • Create and develop detailed design drawings in preparation for tender
  • Develop technical details to support tender submission
  • Create employers’ requirements and specifications to support tender submission
  • Taking the lead in decision making for the value engineering process
  • Delivery of design on-site and working effectively with contractors
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team to create optimal outcomes for development and private client work
  • Manage and set deliverables for the studio to meet project deadlines
  • Lead FF&E team through procurement and install process

Skills necessary:

  • Architecture or Interior Architect background
  • +10 years’ experience delivering high-end residential managing projects above £1m contract value
  • Ideally, experience in both development and private client preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the processes and inputs required in high-end residential construction and refurbishment projects including contract types
  • Strong track record of architectural and interior design skills
  • Progressive design skill
  • Driven to lead and manage projects from feasibility to completion
  • Ability to set and work within the parameters of project timeline and program
  • Extremely personable
  • Articulate
  • Strong written skills-ability to express yourselves clearly and persuasively in written proposals and emails
  • Highly motivated to achieve success
  • A lateral thinker and problem solver
  • Confident working with contractors on site
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • A team player and able to work effectively with the design team
  • Confident working with Vectorworks (or AutoCAD) Microsoft Office and the Adobe Master Suite
