HAUS is thrilled to be working with one of the UK’s most respected architectural practices – a design-led AJ100 studio at the forefront of healthcare architecture for over three decades. With a legacy that began with the award-winning Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, their Health + Care team continues to shape the future of clinical environments with purpose, vision, and empathy.

As the healthcare sector continues its rapid evolution, this top-tier practice is expanding their Manchester studio and seeking a talented Healthcare Associate Architect to help lead the next generation of transformative healthcare spaces.

Why this Associate Architect role?

This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role within a top 5 UK practice, one that values creativity, strategy, and human-focused design in equal measure. You’ll be central to delivering high-profile projects that not only redefine healthcare infrastructure but also significantly improve the experiences of patients, clinicians, and communities alike.

In this Associate Architect role, you’ll:

  • Lead major healthcare schemes from concept through to delivery, both in the UK and internationally

  • Shape the strategic direction of an expanding healthcare portfolio and contribute to the practice’s continued sector leadership

  • Be hands-on with complex acute hospitals, research centres, diagnostics hubs, and healthcare masterplans

  • Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and clinically effective designs

  • Conduct research and challenge the norm – pushing healthcare design beyond traditional expectations

  • Play a key role in mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative studio culture

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in healthcare architecture, ideally within the NHS and/or private healthcare sector

  • Strong technical capability and project leadership across RIBA Stages 2–6

  • A keen interest in healthcare planning, policy, and innovation

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • A passion for design quality and evidence-based solutions

  • ARB-registered and ideally already operating at Associate or Senior Architect level

What’s in it for you?

You’ll join a studio that combines creativity and rigour in equal measure—where design quality is matched by a strong culture of support, recognition, and personal development. In return, you’ll receive:

  • £55,000–£60,000 salary, depending on experience

  • 20 days holiday, plus one additional day per year of service (up to 25 days)

  • 5% employer pension contribution

  • Cycle to Work scheme

  • Childcare vouchers

  • Life insurance

  • Friday drinks and a genuinely sociable studio environment

  • A clear pathway for career growth in a nationally recognised, design-led team

This is your chance to join a practice with an established reputation and a bold vision for the future of healthcare architecture. Be part of a legacy – and help lead where it goes next.
