Interior Designer Role Summary
Chelsea, London | 1-Year Maternity Cover | Full-time, Studio-based |Traditional Residential FF&E Focus
A quietly respected, design-led interior studio in Chelsea is seeking an Interior Designer to join their small, collaborative team on a 1-year maternity cover.
This role centres around a flagship private residential project for a long-standing client. Currently at estimating stage, the scheme is both complex and highly detailed, requiring a confident designer to support its delivery through to key stages over the next year.
The Role
Working closely with a senior designer, you will take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of a major FF&E package, ensuring accuracy, organisation and momentum across all stages.
- Assisting with design schemes and preparing colour boards and client presentations
- Sourcing furniture, fabrics, lighting and bespoke pieces
- Obtaining supplier quotes and compiling detailed project estimates
- Managing orders, tracking timelines and coordinating deliveries
- Checking goods for quality and accuracy prior to installation
- Producing detailed specifications and schedules
- Supporting cost control, invoicing and supplier coordination
- Attending site and client meetings, taking notes and managing follow-ups
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in high-end residential interiors
- Strong FF&E knowledge and supplier awareness
- Confident using EstiPC and Microsoft Office
- Highly organised, detail-focused and numerate
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Professional, personable and confident with both clients and suppliers
- Proactive, hands-on and comfortable in a small team
Designers from traditional, detail-led studios will be particularly well suited.

Additional Information
- Start: June (handover provided)
- Duration: 1-year maternity cover
- Hours: 9:30–5:30 (5pm Friday)
- Holiday: 20 days + Christmas closure
- Site visits required
