Summary of IT Support Engineer Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time IT Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line IT (Digital Systems) support across all aspects of an esteemed architecture and design practice. As an IT Support Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting daily activities, resolving tickets, and ensuring seamless digital operations. This position is crucial for allowing senior Digital Systems team members to focus on core ICT Projects.

IT Support Engineer Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Undertaking small to medium-sized projects as instructed by the Director of IT
  • Diagnosing and resolving 1st and 2nd line technical issues
  • Maintaining and building desktop and laptop devices
  • Setting up and preparing new starter hardware and software
  • Providing inductions to new starters
  • Supporting staff with desk moves and cabling
  • Software management and deployment
  • Proactive management of AD (users and computers) and O365 licenses
  • Managing warranty repairs
  • Proactively managing and maintaining all meeting rooms and AV equipment
  • Retrospectively cataloging and updating hardware and software inventories
  • Weekly audit of printers and plotters, including managing the required consumables
  • Proactive management of IT peripherals
  • Onboarding and offboarding of staff
  • Proactive management of Adobe licenses in accordance with new joiners
  • Escalating unresolvable issues to the Systems Administrator

IT Support Engineer Key Skills and Attributes – Technical

  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware, Windows 11 OS, and Office 365 Suite
  • Administration knowledge of Exchange Admin Centre, basic networking principles, and experience with Audio Visual equipment
  • Familiarity with multi-function printers, large format plotters, MS Teams, Zoom, and other collaboration software
  • Proficiency in IOS + Android mobile device support

Desirable Technical Skills

  • Experience using ManageEngine for software deployment/patching
  • Prior exposure to the Freshdesk ticketing system
  • A background in the AEC Sector
  • Administration knowledge of Adobe CC suite, Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D), Autodesk Applications (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.), rendering applications (Enscape and V-Ray), Unreal Engine gaming workflows, and VR and AR equipment (Vive, Oculus VR, HoloLens, and associated software platforms)

  • 2 years of On-Site Desktop/Client-Side Support
