A Central London based innovative and award-winning interior design studio is looking for a Middleweight Interior Designer. Known for its sophisticated and bespoke creations in the luxury hospitality and residential sectors, they are looking for an individual who has successfully worked on technical hospitality projects from conception to completion for 4+ years. If you can demonstrate your proven skills in delivering exceptional design and have a good understanding of FF&E and bespoke furniture, this is the studio for you.

Middleweight Interior Designer Job Description

  • Working with the team to manage a project efficiently to program and budget
  • Mentoring and assisting junior designers
  • Developing detailed designs and choosing materials
  • Must have a creative mindset with a keen interest in contemporary trends in architecture and design, along with a focus on innovative materials and specifications
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Capable of working independently, collaboratively within a team, or directly with directors
  • Confident with strong presentation skills in both faceto-face and virtual settings
  • Possesses a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of detail drawing design
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical services, and drainage in design
  • Indepth knowledge of planning application requirements and processes

Skills Necessary for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop is a fundamental requirement
  • Essential onsite experience is necessary
  • Coordination of design information with other consultants within the design team is a key aspect
  • Proficiency in creating SketchUp visuals and bespoke FF&E is expected
  • Quality experience in dealing with suppliers and contractors is a must
  • Efficient production of detailed drawing packages and tender documentation (drawings and specifications) is requisite
  • Self-confidence and openness to constructive feedback are essential traits
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and workflow for projects is crucial
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and exceptional attention to detail are required
  • Maintaining an excellent standard of verbal and written English is expected
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in interior design
