Summary of Middleweight Interior Designer Role

An independent interior design studio is looking for a Middleweight Interior Designer, they’re currently working on multiple luxury residential projects both in London and abroad. This an all-rounder permanent position with a focus on FF&E where you would be an integral part of the design process. This opportunity would suit someone keen on working on bespoke client projects and who’s eager to be mentored by an expert in the field. This opportunity has a preference for candidates with a familiarity with the EstiMac software.

Middleweight Interior Designer Job Description

  • Developing detailed designs and choosing materials from concept to completion
  • Must have a creative mindset with a keen interest in contemporary trends in architecture and design, along with a focus on innovative materials and specifications
  • Possesses a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of detail drawing design
  • Confident with communication and has strong presentation skills in both face-to-face and virtual settings
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Working with the team to manage a project efficiently to program and budget
  • Capable of working independently, collaboratively within a team, or directly with directors
  • Mentoring and assisting junior designers

Skills Necessary

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working on high-end residential projects
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop is a fundamental requirement
  • Proficiency in creating SketchUp visuals and bespoke FF&E is expected
  • Highly favourable if familiar with Estimac
  • Essential onsite experience is necessary
  • Quality experience in dealing with suppliers and contractors is a must
  • Efficient production of detailed drawing packages and tender documentation (drawings and specifications) is a requisite
  • Self-confidence and openness to constructive feedback are essential traits
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and workflow for projects is crucial
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and exceptional attention to detail are required
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in interior design
