A young and vibrant Design Studio is seeking a talented Midweight Interior Designer to join its F&B / Hospitality team in London for a twelve-month contract, with potential for extension or conversion to permanent status. The team specializes in exciting high-end F&B and hospitality interior fit-out projects, operating internationally across various project scales and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a positive and passionate approach to design and be keen to gain exposure throughout all phases of the design process.

Job Description for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role

  • Creative contribution to all project aspects, emphasizing exceptional design.
  • Development of mood boards and 2D / 3D design presentations, aiding in tender proposal creation.
  • Management of sample ordering and compilation of finishes boards.
  • Guidance of Junior Designers, demonstrating problem-solving skills and mentorship capabilities.
  • Participation in site surveys and client meetings as required.
  • Production of working drawings (AutoCAD plans, elevations, joinery details) and specifications (finishes and furniture), with team support.
  • Management of diverse workload across multiple projects to meet client deadlines and expectations.
  • Contribution to the growth of the hospitality interiors team within the practice.
  • Collaboration with the project team, reporting to the Design Director.
  • This role would be for someone legally eligible to work in the UK

Skills Necessary for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role

  • A positive, and optimistic attitude and a true passion for innovative design.
  • An all-rounded designer, keen to be exposed to all phases of the design process, from concept to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in F&B / Hospitality projects within the UK.
  • Extensive understanding of FF&E sourcing.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient conceptualization and freehand drawing skills.
  • Demonstrated self-management and proactive attitude.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project processes from concept to site implementation.
  • Proven track record in working with fabricators and specialist suppliers for bespoke products and finishes.
  • Familiarity with Building regulations, British Standards, and relevant statutory legislation.
  • Exceptional knowledge in AutoCAD, Adobe CS and SketchUp.
  • Must have a degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
