Middleweight Interior Designer Role Summary
A boutique design studio in Central London is seeking a Middleweight Interior Designer for a maternity cover role, with potential to become permanent. Known for their vibrant, layered aesthetic that blends vintage references with contemporary flair, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate and creative team.
The successful candidate will bring a colourful and inspiring portfolio, demonstrating confident use of pattern, colour, and texture. A strong eye for detail and a passion for imaginative, characterful interiors are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed drawings including joinery, kitchens, bathrooms, and floor plans using AutoCAD
- Create mood boards, presentations, and design packs using Adobe Suite
- Prepare accurate costings and specifications using Esti
- Ensure all design work aligns with the studio’s signature aesthetic while contributing fresh, innovative ideas
- Liaise confidently with contractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle
- Source and specify FF and E with strong knowledge of materials and finishes
- Maintain excellent organisation across multiple projects and timelines
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar studio environment
- Portfolio demonstrating layered, eclectic design with a vintage sensibility
- Strong technical skills, proficient in AutoCAD, Esti, and Adobe Suite
- Proven ability to produce comprehensive drawing packages and joinery details
- Excellent communication skills and supplier knowledge
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- A proactive, collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively within a small team
- Valid visa to work in the UK
