Middleweight Interior Designer Role Summary
A small but growing residential design studio in Richmond is looking for a Middleweight Interior Designer to join their close-knit team. With four new projects recently secured and more on the horizon, this is a great opportunity for a technically strong designer who enjoys being hands-on across projects and playing a key role in a growing studio.
Founded in 2013, the studio has built a reputation for delivering thoughtful, high-quality residential interiors. With a team of two designers, they are now looking for someone who can support the delivery of multiple projects and bring strong technical expertise to the team.
The studio is based five minutes from Richmond station, surrounded by great cafés and shops, making it a lovely place to work and collaborate.
The Role
You will work across residential projects from design development through to delivery, supporting with technical drawing packages and presentations. This role suits a detail-oriented, technically confident designer who enjoys producing accurate drawing sets and polished presentation material.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed technical drawing packages in AutoCAD
Create setting-out drawings for bathrooms and kitchens for suppliers and costings
Develop detailed joinery drawings
Prepare elevations and presentation visuals using Photoshop
Support design presentations with strong layout and visual communication
Work collaboratively with the team across multiple residential projects
Skills & Experience
Strong AutoCAD skills are essential
Experience producing technical drawings for kitchens, bathrooms, and joinery
Photoshop skills for rendering elevations and presentation material
Good presentation and layout skills
SketchUp experience is a bonus
Technically confident with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working within a small, collaborative team
Studio & Culture
Location: Richmond, London – 5 minutes from the station
Team size: 2 designers
Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm with some flexibility
Working pattern: 5 days in the office (with flexibility for 1 day WFH)
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
