Job description for this Operations Manager Role

  • Administrative Oversight: Co-ordinate with design leads to shape the vision of design operations.
  • Maintain a meticulous attention to detail to ensure smooth and timely daily operations in the studio.
  • Analyse inefficiencies, define and track KPIs to elevate productivity.
  • Financial and HR Management: Work alongside accountants to oversee finances, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Lead project planning and implementation, managing team resource allocation against timelines.
  • Maintain HR processes; recruitment, onboarding, and employee evaluations.
  • Project Finances and Coordination: Monitor and manage project finances, coordinating with procurement, clients, and suppliers.
  • Contract Management: Ensure compliance, manage negotiations, and grow relationships with sub-consultants/suppliers.
  • Attend meetings to coordinate resources and administer contracts with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Client Liaison: Represent the studio and act as a point of contact for clients on administrative matters.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with Directors to formulate business strategy and development initiatives, long-term marketing and secure new projects.
  • This role would be for someone legally eligible to work in the UK.

Skills Necessary for this Operations Manager Role

  • 10 + years’ experience in a consulting studio.
  • Previous team management experience.
  • Highly organized, inspiring and motivating to drive the team’s success and direction.
  • An in-depth understanding of the high-end luxury market.
  • Experience throughout all phases of the design process; from concept development, tendering, and construction detailing. Familiarity with FF&E procurement is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, engaging effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Capability to manage shifting priorities and timescales while maintaining composure under additional pressures.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in using Excel for spreadsheet management.
  • Proficiency in other office software (Adobe, Xero, etc.) and familiarity with design software (EstiPC, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.) is advantageous, along with experience in Clockify (Timesheet software).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management preferred.
