Part II Architectural Assistant Role Summary

Central London | £30,000 – 35,000 | Revit, MicroStation

A highly regarded, design-led architecture studio is seeking a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to join its central London team. The practice works across residential, heritage and mixed-use projects, with a strong emphasis on craft, materiality and carefully considered design.

This is an excellent opportunity for a visually driven and ambitious designer looking to contribute meaningfully across both conceptual and technical stages of projects within a collaborative studio environment.

The Role

You will work closely with senior architects and directors across a range of projects and responsibilities, including:

  • Supporting projects across RIBA Stages 0–2, with exposure to later stages where appropriate
  • Producing high-quality drawings, models and visual material to communicate design ideas clearly
  • Assisting with feasibility studies, pre-application packages and planning submissions
  • Developing presentation material for clients, consultants and local authorities
  • Contributing to in-house visualisation, image production and graphic output
  • Assisting with technical drawing packages and coordination where required
  • Working across multiple projects within a collaborative, design-focused team

This role would suit someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the design process and is confident contributing both creatively and technically.

About You

The studio is looking for a highly considered and visually strong candidate with a balanced approach to design and technical delivery.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Part II qualification with 1–2 years’ professional experience preferred
  • Experience within small to medium-sized, design-led practices
  • A carefully curated portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and graphic clarity
  • Excellent visual judgement and attention to detail
  • Strong 3D modelling, rendering and Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Confidence producing presentation material and imagery to a high standard
  • Some technical and construction experience
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to contribute immediately to studio output
  • Immediate availability or a short notice period preferred

While Revit experience is advantageous, the studio is particularly interested in candidates with strong architectural sensibility and design ability, rather than those coming from heavily corporate production environments.

Software

  • Proficiency in SketchUp, V-Ray and Adobe Creative Suite is essential
  • Revit experience beneficial
  • Initial project work will be undertaken in MicroStation, with training and support provided
  • Opportunity to contribute to the studio’s transition towards Revit implementation in 2026

The Studio Offers

  • The opportunity to join a respected and growing design-led practice
  • Exposure to a broad range of thoughtfully designed projects
  • Close collaboration with experienced architects and directors
  • A supportive and creative studio culture focused on design quality and development
  • Hybrid working and flexible arrangements
  • Salary up to £35,000, dependent on experience

The studio is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive working environment and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds. Particular emphasis is being placed on improving gender balance across the architectural team.
