Architectural Assistant Role Summary
A design-focused architecture studio based in central London is seeking an Architectural Assistant to join its close-knit team. Working from a studio in one of London’s most established design districts, the practice delivers high-end residential and commercial projects across the UK and internationally.
This is a hands-on role offering involvement across all project stages, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully from early concept through to on-site delivery.
The Role
You will work closely with senior architects and designers on a range of projects, contributing to both design development and technical delivery. The role is varied and fast-paced, with exposure to international work and occasional travel.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development of technical design packages from concept to construction
- Producing detailed drawings, including construction, joinery, and bespoke elements
- Developing and coordinating BIM models (Vectorworks and/or Revit)
- Assisting with planning and building regulation submissions
- Collaborating with consultants and wider design teams
- Preparing 3D models and visualisations for presentations
- Participating in site visits and construction-stage coordination, including RFIs
- Managing and organising project documentation
- Contributing to technical problem-solving and internal design reviews
About You
You are a thoughtful and proactive designer with a strong technical grounding and a keen eye for detail. Comfortable working across multiple stages, you are organised, adaptable, and confident contributing within a collaborative studio environment.
- RIBA Part II Architectural Assistant
- Proven experience in a UK-based practice
- Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, and UK Building Regulations
- Proficient in Vectorworks BIM and/or Revit
- Skilled in 3D modelling and visualisation (e.g. SketchUp)
- Experience producing high-quality technical and joinery drawings
- Clear and confident communicator, able to coordinate with consultants and clients
- Able to manage time effectively across multiple projects
- Experience with rendering tools (e.g. Enscape, Cinema4D) is advantageous
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Eligibility to work in the UK
