Architectural Assistant Role Summary

A design-focused architecture studio based in central London is seeking an Architectural Assistant to join its close-knit team. Working from a studio in one of London’s most established design districts, the practice delivers high-end residential and commercial projects across the UK and internationally.

This is a hands-on role offering involvement across all project stages, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully from early concept through to on-site delivery.

The Role

You will work closely with senior architects and designers on a range of projects, contributing to both design development and technical delivery. The role is varied and fast-paced, with exposure to international work and occasional travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of technical design packages from concept to construction
  • Producing detailed drawings, including construction, joinery, and bespoke elements
  • Developing and coordinating BIM models (Vectorworks and/or Revit)
  • Assisting with planning and building regulation submissions
  • Collaborating with consultants and wider design teams
  • Preparing 3D models and visualisations for presentations
  • Participating in site visits and construction-stage coordination, including RFIs
  • Managing and organising project documentation
  • Contributing to technical problem-solving and internal design reviews

About You

You are a thoughtful and proactive designer with a strong technical grounding and a keen eye for detail. Comfortable working across multiple stages, you are organised, adaptable, and confident contributing within a collaborative studio environment.

  • RIBA Part II Architectural Assistant
  • Proven experience in a UK-based practice
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, and UK Building Regulations
  • Proficient in Vectorworks BIM and/or Revit
  • Skilled in 3D modelling and visualisation (e.g. SketchUp)
  • Experience producing high-quality technical and joinery drawings
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to coordinate with consultants and clients
  • Able to manage time effectively across multiple projects
  • Experience with rendering tools (e.g. Enscape, Cinema4D) is advantageous
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Studio Culture

The studio operates as a tight-knit, collaborative team, where individuals are encouraged to take ownership and engage across all aspects of a project. Work is design-led but technically rigorous, with an emphasis on quality, precision, and continuity from concept to completion.

Projects range from finely detailed private residential work to complex commercial schemes, often requiring a high level of coordination and craftsmanship.

The Offer

  • Opportunity to work on high-calibre, design-led projects
  • Exposure to international work and travel
  • A supportive, design-driven studio environment
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience

A strong opportunity for an Architectural Assistant looking to develop both design and technical expertise within a studio that values detail, collaboration, and long-term growth.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, apply with your CV and Portfolio.
