A renowned interior design studio within the maritime and hospitality sector is looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager with proven project manager experience. The successful candidate will be highly organised, enthusiastic, a clear and confident communicator with experience of managing large-scale projects to successful completion. Job description:

  • Presenting to clients and contractors.
  • Managing a project with efficiency and to budget.
  • Mentoring and assisting the junior and middleweight designers.
  • Managing and briefing design team on live projects, including control and sign-off of their project time logs and attendance.
  • Building and growing existing client relationships.
  • Presenting and explanation of concepts to others.
  • Developing detailed designs and input of selecting materials.
  • Working closely with the Directors, Associates, and senior members of staff.
  • Going on site and working closely with sub-contractors and clients.
  • Accountable for project deliverables and the approval of project output.

Skills necessary:

  • Ability to create and develop conceptual designs.
  • Self-confident and receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage time, generate/manage schedules, and workflow of projects efficiently.
  • Quality experience dealing with contractors and sub-teams on site.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and generate plans creatively.
  • Proven track record of over 8 years in Project Management and design.
  • Familiar with project reporting and documentation requirements.
  • Good communication skills & ability to present at a high level.
  • Skills in Vectorworks or AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp and MS Office.
  • BIM and Revit experience/knowledge advantageous.
  • Knowledge of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling).
