Project Manager Role Summary

A global product design consultancy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead their delivery teams and drive operational excellence across a diverse portfolio. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape project strategy, mentor high-performing teams, and steer the commercial success of the studio’s most ambitious work.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the performance, profitability, and delivery of projects across the practice. Working closely with directors, team leads, and clients, you will set strategic direction, resolve complex project issues, and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes. This role is ideal for a confident leader with proven experience in studio operations, client engagement, and project delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor project teams, providing strategic guidance and hands-on support to ensure successful delivery
  • Maintain oversight of project finances, track profitability, manage scope variations, and negotiate additional fees as needed
  • Oversee resource management and team allocation using planning tools, including the implementation of a new project management system
  • Collaborate with directors on business strategy, growth, and team performance reporting
  • Analyse staffing needs and support team development through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and proactive resolution of concerns
  • Manage risk across all live projects, maintaining the risk register and ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
  • Provide consistent reporting on project status, team performance, and delivery targets
  • Review and negotiate contract documentation to ensure project compliance and commercial viability
  • Champion best practice across communication, project planning, stakeholder engagement, and system optimisation
  • Deal with escalated project issues in a calm, solution-focused manner
  • Ensure Gantt charts and progress reports are produced and circulated accurately and on time

About You

  • Strong background in project management within architecture, interiors, or a related design-focused environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at senior or associate level, with team oversight and strategic input
  • Commercially astute, with confidence managing project finances, scope changes, and client negotiations
  • Adept in resource planning and the implementation of digital project management tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring, resolving conflict, and managing high-level client relationships
  • Calm under pressure, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for process improvement
  • PRINCE2 or similar project management certification would be desirable

Benefits:

  • Competitive structure
  • 2 days WFH
  • Birthday day off
  • Cycle to work scheme
