Salary Guide: £30,000 – £38,000

Summary

An established Architecture and Interiors practice based in Southwest London with a view of the Thames is seeking to hire a bright and talented Residential Mid Weight Interior Designer to work under the guidance of / assisting the Head of Interiors on a range of high-end period houses and refurbishment for private clients.

The successful middleweight designer candidate will be an independent problem solver, as well as a team player who will strive to make sure the work is executed to the highest standard and is not afraid to take on anything beyond the job description with a proactive, ambitious, and dynamic approach. In addition to this, you will be an individual who takes details and aesthetics seriously with a notable creative flair, a passion for excellent interior design, and a keen interest in taking on challenging and rewarding projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Initial research and development of the concept; work closely with clients and outlining project schedules
  • Gather relevant information for new projects
  • Prepare detailed working drawings, designs, plans, schedules, using Vectorworks
  • Produce sample/mood boards for client presentations
  • Source products, e.g., furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration, and providing samples for clients

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstratable experience in high-end residential new build houses and period refurbishment projects
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in high-end resi/ period homes
  • Strong understanding of full-set drawings including tender, construction and detail, and site work
  • Excellent eye for detail with a creative ability and genuine passion for high-end residential interior design
  • Organised with good time-management and project-juggling skills
  • Able to design, produce details and working drawings
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and visual
  • Proficient with Vectorworks, InDesign and free-hand sketching would be a bonus
  • Have a dynamic and adaptable character, who will overcome the pressure of a fast-paced working environment and deal with obstacles / tight deadlines with a positive attitude
