Senior or Project Architect (Contract) – £35–45 per hour – 3 to 6 months
We’re pleased to be supporting a respected, design-led architecture practice in their search for a Project Architect or Senior Architect to join them on a contract basis for an initial 3 to 6 months. The studio is known for its high-quality, large-scale housing projects across London, with an expanding portfolio of international residential and mixed-use developments.
This is a contract role best suited to a highly experienced architect who can hit the ground running and work largely independently. You’ll be joining a collaborative team led by directors with global practice experience and a strong emphasis on thoughtful, sustainable design and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of large-scale housing schemes, from early concept stages through to technical delivery
Oversee coordination with internal teams and external consultants
Interface directly with clients, consultants, and local authorities
Produce well-resolved technical and detail packages, particularly in Revit
Take a proactive role in project management, problem-solving, and meeting deadlines
Contribute to wider studio discussions on design quality and delivery
Skills & Experience
Significant post-qualification experience, with a proven track record on UK housing schemes
Excellent Revit and Rhino skills
Strong technical detailing ability and understanding of UK Building Regulations
Experience with Build to Rent (BTR) or BREEAM is advantageous
Confident communicator with a self-directed, solution-focused mindset
Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Contract Details
Hourly rate: £35–45 per hour, depending on experience
Duration: 3 to 6 months, with potential to extend
Start: ASAP or by mutual agreement
Working pattern: Hybrid working arrangement available
