A young yet well-established design studio is looking for a sophisticated high-end residential Senior Interior Designer. Their studio is based in an affluent and fashionable area of west London where you would be joining on a permanent basis with great potential to progress within the studio as you take on more responsibilities and work closely with the founders. They design fully bespoke and chic, timeless high-end residential properties around the UK and across the world. Known for their sophisticated style, neutral aesthetics, and bespoke pieces to create a functional and truly unique space.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of high-end interior design, perhaps also having worked on the odd commercial project. The candidate should be able to both lead on and work through all stages including showing personal initiative on projects. A key interest for FF&E and must enjoy a clean and contemporary style.

Job description:

  • The successful candidate will be joining a small design studio at senior level
  • Working as a team or leading, mentoring and assisting more junior designers
  • Sourcing and procuring bespoke joinery and FF&E items
  • Overseeing and reviewing supplier technical drawings prior to production
  • Coordinate FF&E, from creating designs and producing presentations to scheduling and installation
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors on FF&E packages to quality control and curate bespoke pieces
  • Responsible for providing creative solutions as projects develop on site
  • Attend site meetings with suppliers, contractors, and project managers
  • Creating detailed specifications and managing client budgets

What you will need:

  • Required: Must have at least 6+ years post-graduate experience in the luxury residential sector
  • Required: Full proficiency using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • A keen intertest for FF&E
  • Required: Experience with private clients and the ability to develop a good rapport with clients
  • Thorough understanding of the design process and experience delivery residential projects through to completion
  • Proficient supplier and product knowledge, including FF&E and finishes
  • A good technical understanding
  • Financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness
  • Ability to work from concept to completion on your own or as part of a team
  • Having the intuition to think on your feet and be proactive
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Must like dogs, the owner has 2 French bull dogs that are in the studio every day
