Retail Focus | Maternity Cover (12 Months)
A highly respected, design-led studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their team on a 12-month maternity cover, working from a creative studio environment in East London with a hybrid working arrangement. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer to step into a well-rounded senior role within a studio known for delivering bold, thoughtful and commercially intelligent retail environments.
The successful candidate will bring strong all-round interior design experience, with the confidence to lead projects from early concept through to on-site delivery. You’ll be comfortable working across multiple project scales, collaborating closely with peers and senior leadership, while also mentoring and supporting junior designers within the team.
The Role
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be:
Leading retail-focused interior design projects from concept development to on-site implementation
Contributing creatively across spatial design, materiality, detailing and brand-led environments
Producing and overseeing high-quality design documentation using Vectorworks
Working collaboratively with the wider design team across all stages of the project lifecycle
Coordinating with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery on site
Managing your own workload efficiently while supporting the wider team during busy periods
Delegating tasks appropriately and mentoring junior team members
Maintaining high design standards and consistency across multiple live projects
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
8+ years’ professional experience in interior design, ideally with strong retail project exposure
Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion
Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks (essential)
Experience using Cinema4D (or an interest in developing these skills – training available)
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
A curious, inquisitive mindset with a genuine interest across multiple creative disciplines
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Confidence collaborating with peers, managers and external consultants
A calm, supportive leadership style with experience guiding junior designers
