Senior Resource & Operations Manager Role Summary

Retail & Spatial Design | Old Street | £65-75k Salary | Hybrid

A globally recognised creative studio working across retail, brand experience and spatial design is looking for a Senior Resource & Operations Manager to join the business in a pivotal leadership role.

The practice delivers next-generation retail and experiential environments for some of the world’s best-known brands. This role sits at the heart of the studio – balancing creative ambition with commercial reality, ensuring teams are set up for success and projects are delivered at the highest level.

They’ve met lots of candidates from advertising backgrounds, but what they really want is someone who understands the pace and complexity of retail interiors, spatial design or architecture-led projects. You don’t need to come from a design background yourself, but proven experience leading resourcing and operations within a creative environment is essential.

This is far more than a scheduling role. You’ll act as a strategic partner to leadership – overseeing global resourcing, capacity planning and operational delivery across the studio whilst managing and mentoring teams. You’ll be responsible for building high-performing project teams, navigating resource challenges, protecting project health and helping drive operational consistency across the global business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading studio-wide resourcing and operational planning
  • Managing workloads, utilisation and project deliverables across global teams
  • Building and curating high-performing project teams
  • Mentoring and line managing team members
  • Partnering closely with leadership on forecasting and capacity planning
  • Driving operational efficiencies and evolving studio processes
  • Leading onboarding and implementation of a new resource management system
  • Navigating challenging resourcing conversations with confidence and empathy
  • Supporting commercial performance through smart resource planning and freelance management

What they’re looking for:

  • 5+ years’ experience within resource management and operations in a creative studio or agency
  • Background supporting retail, interiors, spatial or design-led projects
  • Strong experience managing creative teams and studio workflows
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence balancing creative and operational priorities
  • Experience with tools like Streamtime or Forecast is helpful, but not essential

The details:

  • £65-75k Salary
  • Hybrid working (3 days in studio)
  • Private healthcare
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Generous holiday allowance + wellbeing day + birthday off
  • Working abroad opportunities

A brilliant opportunity for a senior operations professional who loves creative environments and wants to play a genuinely influential role within a globally respected studio.
