A pre-eminent interior design studio recognised globally for its luxury property design and development is looking for Senior Technical Designer. Located in West London, the ideal candidate will have 6+ years’ experience working on luxury residential or hospitality design projects.

Senior Technical Designer Job Description:

  • Focus on the production of Technical and Construction packages
  • Advise and assist the design team with technical input during the concept stage
  • Ensure adherence to national and local building codes; coordinate with relevant consultants to track and ensure compliance
  • Assess and meet client requirements through effective communication and building strong client and design team relationships
  • Research concepts and materials to provide technical input and support the wider design team in concept development
  • Consider materials, risks, labour, and costs in relation to client budgets and project profitability for the company
  • Work within timely schedules, coordinate task completion through to project completion; conduct onsite observations to streamline buildability and address unforeseen challenges
  • Prepare and participate in client presentations during the construction phase; provide recommendations for improved buildability.

Skills Necessary for this Senior Technical Designer role:

  • Hold a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Must have at least 6+ years’ experience
  • Demonstrate sound experience in technical detailing, regulations, and standards
  • Familiarity with contractors’ proposals and change control processes
  • Must exhibit proficiency in Revit
  • Indepth knowledge of furniture systems and finishes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills for confidently presenting schemes to clients in person
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines across multiple projects
