Studio Manager Role Summary

An award-winning creative studio is seeking a Studio Manager with HR experience to join its expanding South London team. Specialising in film, animation, and architectural visualisation, this is an exciting opportunity to support a growing 15-person studio at a pivotal stage of development. The role combines studio operations, HR, and finance within a dynamic, creative environment.


About the Role

As Studio Manager, you’ll take over key operational responsibilities from the COO, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive, organised professional looking to grow within a close-knit, design-driven team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate office maintenance, repairs, and supplier management
  • Manage health and safety compliance, including PAT testing
  • Organise studio events, socials, and staff activities
  • Maintain accurate HR records – absences, holidays, and lateness
  • Support compliance with UK employment law and HR documentation
  • Assist with drafting contracts and onboarding new hires
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff concerns and escalate where needed
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Support staff reviews and assist with contractor engagement
  • Check supplier invoices, reconcile against budgets, and update Gantt charts
  • Input supplier invoices into Xero and allocate to correct accounts
  • Maintain internal systems such as Notion and provide basic IT support

The Successful Candidate

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Studio Manager in a creative or design studio
  • Strong HR experience with working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Finance experience using Xero and excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience liaising with clients and reviewing contracts or NDAs
  • Proficiency with G-Suite and Microsoft Office
