We are currently searching for a Sustainability Manager to join a prestigious architectural practice based in South London. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in spearheading sustainability initiatives within the practice, collaborating with project teams, and promoting sustainable design solutions.

Key Responsibilities for this Sustainability Manager Role

  • Lead and implement the practice’s sustainability vision and strategy, integrating sustainable principles into all aspects of project design and execution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to set clear sustainability targets, monitor performance, and advocate for sustainable design solutions to clients and collaborators.
  • Research and recommend sustainable systems and materials, assisting in their implementation across projects.
  • Manage the collection and analysis of project sustainability data, conducting post-occupancy studies and environmental condition surveys.
  • Coordinate internal sustainability teams, lead staff training strategies, and promote the practice’s sustainability ethos within the industry.
  • Stay informed of key sustainable policy changes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and driving decarbonizing efforts within the practice’s business operations.
Skills and Qualifications for this Sustainability Manager Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, environmental science, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in sustainability management/coordination within architecture or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, including whole life carbon assessment, thermal performance, and daylight/sunlight analysis.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and experience in implementing sustainable practices within a professional setting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project teams, clients, and industry networks.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Whole Life Cycle Assessment software; good understand of Revit.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to promoting sustainable design solutions across the industry.
