What is a Project Architect?
Project Architects are typically leaders of the design team, responsible for the overall development and implementation of a project. Most Project Architects have at least five years experience and in most cases will have a proven track record for the design and delivery of numerous successful projects, along with the ability to present a portfolio of high-profile work. At HAUS, we relish the challenge of matching experienced Architects with the most sought-after Project Architect roles in London.
Duties of a Project Architect
As a senior member of the design team, Project Architects must ensure that the team is working effectively while keeping to schedule and budget. They will have the ability to take the reigns of a scheme and lead the team through all stages of a project, and may be responsible for the technical development, budgeting, design coordination and contractor liaison. Project Architects will also be expected to travel to projects and attend design and client meetings.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent technical and construction knowledge is essential. You will have experience running projects from start to finish and will be able to demonstrate the ability to follow through design and front-end work into the technical delivery of projects. Strong communication skills, and the ability and willingness to work closely with outside consultants, contractors and clients are prerequisites. As with most architectural roles, relevant software skills such as AutoCAD, SketchUp / Rhino, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop are vital.
