Freelance Technical Designer Role Summary

We’re supporting a Bristol-based project team looking for a Freelance Technical Designer to help deliver a £12m CAT B fit-out scheme across four buildings, currently progressing through phased Stage 4 design and delivery.
Role Overview
This is an office-based freelance position supporting technical design coordination across multiple building phases. You’ll work closely with the delivery team to ensure design information is coordinated, buildable, and aligned with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical design support across live project stages
- Coordinate and develop Stage 4 design information packages
- Support delivery across the remaining phased buildings (three active streams)
- Review design information for coordination, compliance, and buildability
- Liaise with consultants, site teams, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries
- Support continuity of design intent through construction and handover stages
Requirements
- Strong background in CAT B fit-out technical design
- Solid experience delivering or coordinating Stage 4 packages
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, live project environments
- Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple stakeholders
- Detail-driven with a practical, solutions-focused approach
