Interior Design Principal / Design Director Role Summary

An internationally recognised design practice is seeking a senior Hospitality Design Principal to join its leadership team in Singapore.
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious design leader who combines exceptional hospitality design expertise with strong commercial awareness, team leadership, and business development capability. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future growth of the hospitality division, with a genuine pathway towards equity participation and long term leadership within the business.
The studio has recently secured a number of major hospitality projects across Asia and is looking for a well connected industry professional who can lead complex projects, develop client relationships, inspire teams, and contribute to the continued expansion of the practice.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for leading high profile hospitality projects throughout Asia whilst helping drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.
This role requires a highly visible leader who is comfortable operating at both strategic and project level. You will be expected to guide design direction, oversee project delivery, mentor large teams, and actively contribute to winning work.
You will work closely with existing leadership across workplace and hospitality sectors whilst helping develop and grow the hospitality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of large scale hospitality and integrated resort projects from concept through to completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel operators, developers, and key stakeholders.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through networking, client engagement, and industry relationships.
- Present design concepts and strategic solutions to senior clients and project teams.
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects and locations.
- Provide leadership across project delivery, design quality, resource planning, and commercial performance.
- Support the long term growth and development of the hospitality division.
- Travel throughout Asia and the Middle East as required.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years’ experience within leading international design practices.
- Proven experience delivering large scale hospitality projects including luxury hotels, integrated resorts, and mixed use developments.
- Strong understanding of both design excellence and commercial project delivery.
- Experience managing large teams and complex project programmes.
- Demonstrable success in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
- International project experience across Asia and/or the Middle East.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Additional experience across high end residential, branded residences, show flats, mixed use developments, and casino projects would be highly advantageous.
