A leading, award-winning transdisciplinary design practice is seeking a talented Urban Designer to join its growing London-based team.
Working across architecture, urban design, landscape, graphics and visual storytelling, the studio delivers ambitious mixed-use and place-making projects across the UK and internationally. With a strong pipeline of work, this is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping complex urban environments from early vision through to planning and beyond.
The role
You will contribute to a wide range of large-scale projects, from strategic frameworks to detailed masterplans of varying density and character. The role suits a confident, lateral thinker with strong graphic sensibility and the ability to communicate big ideas clearly.
You’ll work closely with architects, urban designers and landscape teams in a highly collaborative studio environment, with opportunities to broaden your skillset across disciplines.
About you
You will bring a strong design-led approach, with experience on complex masterplanning and mixed-use schemes in the UK and/or overseas. A clear interest in urban placemaking and high-density environments is essential.
Required skills and experience
Demonstrable creativity and strong design ability across early RIBA stages (0–3)
Experience working on large-scale, mixed-use projects
High-density housing experience (ideally pre-planning)
Strong sketching skills, both hand-drawn and digital
Experience working in 3D CAD environments
Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
Degree in urban design or architecture
Proficiency in Revit
Excellent communication and coordination skills
