Senior Landscape Architect Role Summary
West London | Hybrid
An established and highly regarded landscape and garden design practice is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect / Senior Garden Designer to join its growing London team.
Working across a portfolio of beautifully crafted private, residential and selective commercial projects in the UK and internationally, the studio is recognised for creating layered, immersive landscapes that balance strong design sensibilities with ecological thinking and a deep appreciation of planting.
This is an opportunity for a senior-level designer to take a leading role within a close-knit, ambitious studio, contributing not only to exceptional projects but also to the evolution of the practice as it enters its next phase of growth.
The Role
You will lead projects from concept through to delivery, taking ownership of design development, technical coordination and on-site implementation. The role requires someone equally comfortable shaping design direction, managing client relationships and mentoring more junior team members.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining design quality across the studio while helping refine systems, workflows and standards as the practice develops.
Projects span private gardens, larger estates and selected public or commercial commissions, requiring a thoughtful, design-led approach and a strong sensitivity to landscape, materiality and planting.
About You
You will bring a high level of design capability alongside strong technical knowledge and project leadership experience.
We are interested in hearing from candidates with:
- A qualification in Landscape Architecture, Garden Design or a related discipline
- Approximately 6–8+ years’ experience delivering high-quality projects within practice
- Excellent design and technical ability, from concept through to construction detail
- Strong horticultural and planting knowledge, with an enthusiasm for naturalistic and ecologically informed landscapes
- Confidence managing projects independently and maintaining strong client relationships
- Experience mentoring or supporting more junior designers
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and collaborative digital workflows
- A collaborative, proactive and considered approach to working within a growing studio environment
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal position within an ambitious practice, offering genuine opportunity for progression and increased responsibility over time.
You will join a collaborative studio environment where thoughtful design, curiosity and long-term landscape thinking are central to the work. Alongside a competitive salary, the studio offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to contribute to exceptional projects of varying scales and contexts.
