Associate Architect Role Summary

Location: Dublin, Ireland

A well-regarded, design-led architecture studio is seeking an Associate Architect to join its growing team in Dublin. This is an opportunity to take on a key role within a collaborative studio environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, thoughtful architecture across a range of sectors.

You will play an integral part in leading and coordinating project teams, supporting design development, and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard — on time and within budget. This position offers a balance of hands-on design involvement, technical oversight, and team leadership.

The Role

As an Associate, you will:

  • Lead and manage design teams across multiple projects
  • Oversee the technical development and delivery of projects
  • Contribute to high-quality architectural design, from concept through to completion
  • Ensure compliance with Irish planning, building regulations, and statutory requirements
  • Take an active role in project coordination, stakeholder communication, and reporting
  • Support internal studio initiatives, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a positive and collaborative culture

Design & Technical

  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to produce well-resolved architectural proposals
  • Excellent knowledge of building technologies, technical standards, and planning processes
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM, particularly Revit
  • Experience preparing detailed drawing packages for planning, tender, and construction
  • Awareness of environmental and sustainable design principles

Project & Team Leadership

  • Confident in leading meetings and managing client and consultant relationships
  • Experience in contract administration and project delivery
  • Ability to manage resources, programmes, and budgets effectively
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing team members

Business Development

  • Contribute to bids, competitions, and tender submissions
  • Support the growth of client relationships and wider networks

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience at a senior level within architectural practice
  • Strong technical delivery experience, including site involvement
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of Irish regulations and construction processes
