Associate Architect Role Summary
High-End Residential / Heritage | London | ASAP Start
We’re working with a design-led London studio who are looking for an Associate Architect, they specialise in high-end private residential architecture, with a strong reputation for listed buildings and sensitive heritage interventions.
This is a senior Associate-level opportunity, taking full responsibility for the delivery of complex, one-off private houses (£2m–£8m), typically involving refurbishment, façade retention, and highly detailed bespoke design.
You will lead projects from early design through to completion, acting as the primary client contact and taking ownership of design quality, coordination, and delivery across all RIBA stages.
Role Overview
A senior, hands-on position leading multiple high-end residential and heritage projects with full autonomy over design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of high-end residential and listed building projects (£2m–£8m)
- Take full responsibility across RIBA stages 0–7
- Act as key client lead and primary project decision-maker
- Oversee contract administration and project delivery
- Manage 2–3 live projects concurrently
- Lead small internal teams and coordinate external consultants
- Maintain design quality, programme, and budget control
Requirements
- Strong portfolio in high-end residential and listed/heritage projects
- Proven ability across RIBA 0–7 delivery
- Confident contract administrator
- Strong client-facing and leadership capability
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Comfortable leading small teams independently
- Able to take ownership from day one
