Associate Architect Role Summary

High-End Residential | West London | £55,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

A boutique, design-led architecture and interiors practice in London is seeking an Associate Architect / Senior Project Architect to join its senior team. This is a key hire for an experienced architect who combines strong project leadership with deep technical expertise.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of high-end residential projects from concept through delivery, while also acting as a technical lead and mentor across the wider studio.

This position would suit someone hands-on, commercially aware, and confident leading projects while helping elevate technical standards across a collaborative team.

With a close-knit team and a strong reputation for quality, the practice offers genuine responsibility, direct client exposure, and the chance to shape projects in a meaningful way.


The Role

Project Leadership
  • Lead projects through RIBA Stages 2–5
  • Take ownership of design development, coordination, and technical delivery
  • Drive project progress from planning through completion
  • Oversee consultant coordination and programme milestones
Technical Leadership
  • Act as the studio’s go-to technical authority
  • Lead complex detailing, buildability reviews, and delivery strategy
  • Review drawing packages and support technical consistency across projects
  • Provide guidance to Project Architects and junior staff
Design Quality & Coordination
  • Lead Stage 3 and Stage 4 review processes
  • Ensure design intent is maintained through technical development
  • Identify coordination issues early and resolve efficiently
  • Raise overall quality assurance standards across the studio
Client & Site Involvement
  • Attend key client meetings as a senior architectural lead
  • Provide confidence and credibility throughout project stages
  • Support construction phase queries and occasional site attendance

About You

  • ARB registered Architect or equivalent senior-level experience
  • 6–12 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical delivery experience across RIBA Stages 3–5
  • Proven experience delivering high-end residential projects in London
  • Listed building / heritage experience highly desirable
  • Strong detailing and consultant coordination skills
  • Confident reviewing work and making decisions
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused
