The Role
As a Senior Urban Designer, you will play a leading role in the end-to-end delivery of urban design and masterplanning projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders, you’ll apply strategic design thinking and provide confident leadership across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation of innovative and high-quality design proposals, masterplans, and design codes
Oversee project teams, timelines, and communications with clients
Mentor and support junior designers and urbanists
Engage with local authorities, developers, and external consultants
Uphold design quality and ensure compliance with UK planning and policy frameworks
Contribute to bids and business development initiatives
About You
Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in urban design, ideally within an architectural or multi-disciplinary studio
Strong background in residential-led masterplanning and urban regeneration projects
A compelling portfolio showcasing design excellence in placemaking and urban design
In-depth knowledge of UK planning policy and national design standards
Proficiency in relevant design tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and GIS (Revit is a plus)
Confident communicator with strong leadership and presentation skills
A full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential
